What Rockstar released
On Thursday 27 August 2026 Rockstar said An Extended Look was now playing on Netflix, and that it would reach the official YouTube channel and the GTA VI site at 9 p.m. ET. That was 11am on Friday 28 August in Melbourne. Rockstar later updated the post to say it was on YouTube and the official site.
“Captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5, this extended look at Grand Theft Auto VI showcases the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet.”
Why it's different
The earlier trailers were short. Rockstar says this one was captured entirely from in-game PS5 footage, so it shows the game rather than separately rendered scenes. Rockstar's post names Netflix as the first place to watch, ahead of its own channels.
Where it fits
It came more than 15 months after Trailer 2 (6 May 2025), and two months after pre-orders opened on 25 June 2026. It was 84 days, or 12 weeks, before the 19 November launch. The Launch Trailer followed on 15 October.
What changed
The release plan was unchanged. Rockstar's post repeats the 19 November date for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and points to rockstargames.com/VI for pre-orders. The video was new footage rather than new facts about dates or prices. We haven't put trailer timestamps on this site unless an outlet we link has documented them.
What's next
After this, Rockstar released the Launch Trailer on 15 October. Pre-loading for digital pre-orders opens on 12 November, and the game launches on 19 November. All official videos are on our trailers page.
