Release moved to 19 November 2026

By Leo Vance · Published 6 Nov 2025 · Updated 3 Nov 2026, 9:38pm AEDT

On 6 November 2025 Rockstar moved GTA 6 from 26 May 2026 to Thursday 19 November 2026, its second delay, saying the extra months would let it finish the game with the polish players expect. The date hasn't changed since. Confirmed

What Rockstar said

The post was a short letter signed by Rockstar Games. It gave the new date, Thursday 19 November 2026, and apologised for adding more time to what it called a long wait. Rockstar thanked players for their patience and said it was excited for them to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern-day Vice City.

“these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.”

What changed

This was the second delay. Trailer 1 in December 2023 promised the game in 2025. On 2 May 2025 Rockstar moved it to 26 May 2026, and this post moved it again, by 177 days, to 19 November 2026. Both delays came as letters signed by Rockstar Games rather than as trailers. The platforms stayed the same: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. PC still isn't announced.

Why it matters

Every later announcement was built on this date. Pre-orders opened on 25 June 2026 for a 19 November launch. The pre-load date of 12 November, the Vintage Vice City Pack cut-off of 20 November and The Album's 19 November release all line up with it. Rockstar hasn't moved the date since this post.

What's next

Pre-loading for digital pre-orders opens on 12 November 2026, and the game unlocks at midnight local time in each store region, starting with New Zealand. According to PlayStation Store release data reported by outlets, the first unlock is at 11:00 UTC on 18 November, which is 10pm AEDT. Rockstar hasn't announced an official unlock hour. Our release time page has every region, and our Is GTA 6 out yet page shows live status.
