What Rockstar announced
The Newswire post is short and gives three things. Pre-orders would open on 25 June, digitally and at other select retailers. Wishlisting on the PlayStation Store or the Microsoft Store would alert players when pre-orders went live. And the official cover art was shown in the post's video, with a downloadable version on the Grand Theft Auto VI site.
The post didn't list prices or editions. Those came a week later, when pre-orders opened.
“Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will officially begin on June 25 on digital storefronts and at other select retailers.”
What happened on 25 June
Rockstar's 24 June post dated pre-orders for the next day and set out the editions and bonuses. Today the US PlayStation Store lists the Standard Edition at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99, and digital pre-orders include the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+. Prices in other countries are on our where-to-buy page.
