GTA 6 has not been announced for Xbox Game Pass. The Xbox Store lists it as a paid Standard and Ultimate Edition purchase for 19 November 2026. Neither Rockstar nor Microsoft has said it will join the Game Pass catalogue on day one, or later.

What we can actually source
Microsoft's store page for Grand Theft Auto VI sells the game for Xbox Series X|S. It describes a single-player purchase, not a Game Pass entitlement. Confirmed [1] Rockstar's Newswire pre-order and pre-load posts likewise talk about buying and downloading the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. They do not mention Game Pass. Confirmed [1] [2]
We have not seen an Xbox Wire post, a Rockstar Newswire post or a store badge that puts GTA 6 in Game Pass. Unknown whether it will be added after launch.
What that means on 19 November
If you want to play at midnight in your store region, plan on buying the game (digital or a code-in-box copy) rather than waiting for a subscription drop that has not been promised. Editions and the extra US$20 Ultimate upgrade are explained in is Ultimate Edition worth it?. Australian boxed copies are covered on JB Hi-Fi and EB Games.
A free month of GTA+ comes with eligible digital pre-orders on PlayStation and Xbox. That is Rockstar's subscription for GTA extras, not Xbox Game Pass, and it does not replace owning the game. See the pre-order bonus.
PC Game Pass and PS Plus
There is no announced PC version, so there is nothing to add to PC Game Pass. Unknown on PC overall: PC release date.
PlayStation lists GTA 6 as a 1-player game with offline play enabled and does not list PlayStation Plus as a requirement to play the story. Confirmed [1] You do still need an internet connection to download up to 212 GB. A later online mode, if one arrives, might have its own subscription rules; those are Unknown.
We will change this page if Microsoft or Rockstar announce a Game Pass date. Until then we will not write "GTA 6 will never be on Game Pass" — only that it has not been announced.
